Laminate is the value pick and it still looks the part. The wear layer is tough — it is the product that handles a dining chair being dragged out twice a day — and there are finishes now that read convincingly as oak, walnut or blackbutt.
Narangba filled out through the 2000s, so most of what we see is slab-on-ground with open-plan living and three or four bedrooms. The floors going in now are the second set — the original builder-grade carpet and tile has done its twenty years and people are moving to hybrid or loose lay through the living zone with fresh carpet in the bedrooms.
