A commercial floor has a different job to a house. It has to take trolleys, chairs on castors and a few hundred pairs of feet a week, and it has to go down without shutting the business. Narangba filled out through the 2000s, so most of what we see is slab-on-ground with open-plan living and three or four bedrooms. The floors going in now are the second set — the original builder-grade carpet and tile has done its twenty years and people are moving to hybrid or loose lay through the living zone with fresh carpet in the bedrooms.
